Project Impact, a program of Student HOTC, provides summer opportunities for youth volunteers. If you would like to donate to HOTC to help support more free community-minded volunteer events and programs - like these special summer volunteer pop-ups - click here.

Come together (or 6 ft apart) to weed, harvest, and learn the vision of The Giving Garden started by Thomasville First United Methodist Church. Volunteers will receive a take-home kit, HOTC t-shirt, and a Live Better pedometer to track their physical activity while volunteering.

Ages 12 to adult. Under 12 if accompanied by an adult (18+). This opportunity is limited to 8 participants.

This is a no-frills service opportunity. Please bring anything you will need to be comfortable (hat, water, sunscreen, etc.), wear appropriate attire and closed-toe shoes.

DROP OFF AND PICK-UP INSTRUCTIONS:
Please drop-off and pick-up volunteers in the parking lot of Walden's Flower Shop by 9:00 a.m. to check-in. Be on the lookout for directional signs! *COVID-19 information: Temperatures will be checked on arrival. Masks and gloves will be available, and social distancing is highly encouraged. If you are immuno-compromised and/or requested to self-quarantine, feeling unwell, have any symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please stay home and join us at a future opportunity. Please follow all current health guidelines by the CDC and local/state officials.

Cancellation policy

Limited spaces are available and our non-profit partners are counting on you to volunteer! If you will not be able to make your volunteer shift, please contact our office at (229) 226-5200 as soon as possible so we may make arrangements for another volunteer to attend in your place.

If you are immuno-compromised or requested to self-quarantine, not feeling well, exhibiting symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to a person diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please stay home and join us at a future opportunity.
